Quite the Hike

Now that’s a long footpath.

The Cumberland Trail – officially known as the Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail State Park – will extend 300 miles from Signal Mountain, Tenn., to the Cumberland Gap, where Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia converge.

Large sections totaling about 150 miles are complete and open to the public. Construction is being supervised by the state, with the ultimate goals of providing multiple recreational opportunities, protecting water quality and safeguarding natural habitat for animals.
